Safety Warning issued about Immersion Heater Thermostats after child is scalded to death in cot.

A safety warning has been issued regarding electric immersion heater thermostats failing resulting in the water boiling and posing a serious scalding risk. Regulations required immersion heater thermostats incorporated an over-temperature device from April 2004 in case of just such an occurrence but many will still be of the original non protected type.

Please check yours immediately and if required have them replaced without delay.
